  • 3 large pieces Sunkist® orange peel
  • 3 slices dried Chen Pi
  • Some rock sugars
  • 400 ml Water


  1. Wash and peel the oranges. Drain the orange peel and remove the white pith from the orange peel.
  2. Cut the orange peel into strips.
  3. Soak the dried Chen Pi in cold water until soft, use a knife to remove the white pith.
  4. Cut the dried Chen Pi into strips.
  5. Boil orange peel and Chen Pi strips for 5 minutes, then drain.
  6. Add water, rock sugar, orange peel, and Chen Pi strips back into the pot and bring to a boil, then reduce the heat.
  7. Stir constantly to prevent burning, until the water has reduced by half, then turn off the heat.
  8. Pour the mixture into a jar and let it cool before serving.
